Dear Christain Indie,
We’ve been gearing up for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) all through the month of October, and we’ve got another great “Preptober” episode in store for you today!
We’ve already discussed what you should do if you’re a pantser and how you could plot a Cozy Mystery or a romance, but many of our listeners prefer to write tales of far away lands, brave heroes, mythical creatures, and epic adventures. So,this week on the podcast, we’re going to get into the specifics of writing fantasy!
That’s right, our own Christina Cattane, who has published a #1 best seller in the Christian Fantasy genre, “Lost In the Land of the Midnight Sun” (link to book. Tina I didn’t provide a link here because I didn’t know if you’d rather link to your website or amazon or what.) is going to share with us tips and tricks for making fantasy writers get a NaNo win this November.
Tina will share with us about the particular tropes of the genre, as well as pitfalls to avoid when crafting your world and characters. We’ll touch a bit on “The Hero’s Journey” and other plot devices known to make books in the fantasy genre perpetual favorites. She’ll walk us through her outlining process, and the other steps she takes during “Preptober” to ensure a successful NaNoWriMo.
It’s an episode all writers, but especially fans of fantasy, won’t want to miss! So, be sure to tune in at 10 am Easter to be a part of our live chat, and connect with other writers gearing up for National Novel Writing Month!
See you there,
Jamie
