If you missed last week’s episode, you missed a great one. You can watch the replay here.
As always, the ladies of the podcast created some great pieces of writing from this sprint prompt. This week, the prompt was: I’m never getting out of this chair again. We really enjoyed Rhonda’s take on the prompt, and we think you will as well! Enjoy, and make sure you reach out to her to let her know you want her to finish this story!
Will the pounding ever stop? Marissa sat back on her knees and inspected the sea of wood spreading before her. Only two more boards. At sixteen feet, that’s around sixteen more screws. She closed her eyes to meditate on the thought of standing upright again, willing herself to levitate toward that pretty adirondack chair over there, less than fifteen feet away from her aching bones.
“Not yet,” she scolded herself.
“Less than forty screws and it’ll be over!” screamed her inner cheerleader whom she had named Jamie.
“But the chair is right there!” Marissa screamed inwardly to her cheerleader. “ Twenty minutes now is still twenty minutes later, right?”
“But if you sit now, you know you’ll never get out of that chair again. G-E-T-U-P-G-E-T-U-P! Ge-e-e-e-t up!” Cheerleader Jamie yelled in her best stadium voice.
“You can do it…” The next cheer was stifled when Marissa poured the rest of her now-hot-ice water over her neck.
“Fine.” She emphasised her compliance with an extra long braaaaaaap from her impact gun then reached for another handful of screws.
