Dear Christian Indies,
November is National Novel Writing Month, so this month, we’ve been celebrating “Preptober”—the planning done all during the month of October which will hopefully ensure a successful NaNoWriMo for you, Indie!
Last week, (<—link to last week’s episode) we encouraged you to think along the lines of character development as a “pantser’s strategy” for Preptober (<—link to Planning for Preptober)—the month of October. If you’ve been following along, you may find you have a couple of characters in mind whom you think would make a wonderful couple, and may be thinking you would want to build your entire story around the coming together of these two characters. In other words, you’ve discovered you want to write a romance!
The good and bad news is, romance readers have some pretty clear expectations. This is bad news because, well, we all know there is a potential for getting it “wrong,” and disappointing readers. The good news is, these expectations also offer you some pretty solid goalposts you can aim for along your novel writing journey. In other words, outlining a romance novel is something that is easily done with the right know-how.
That is what we are bringing to you this week, Indie! That’s right, our own Jenifer Carll-Tong will be bringing her romance plotting expertise to the table, and filling us all in on the romance dos and donts! It’s an episode you won’t want to miss.
See you there,
Jamie
