Hi there, Indies!
We’re well into 2021 and if you are anything like the ladies of the Podcast, you already feel like things are getting away from you, including your goals to advance your writing journey! If so, you might have already realized the need to slow down, and plot your writerly course more carefully.
What does that look like? Well, it depends, but for sure, some strategizing is in order – after all, you can’t hit a target you can’t see! For those of you who discovered last week (Episode 117) your writing is more of a hobby than a business, it will be sufficient to continue to make goals toward publication. On the other hand, if you’ve determined to be more business-minded with your writing, your focus will be – understandably – different, and you will be requiring a business plan.
Now, don’t let the idea of a business plan intimidate you! It’s not meant to “control” or “punish” you in any way! In fact, it may be best thought of as a very effective tool for a writer – a way to make sure you are constantly and consistently moving toward profitability. And if you don’t know where to start with your own goal setting or strategizing, never fear – the ladies of the podcast are here to help you get your ducks in a row (even if your ducks are currently acting more like headless chickens)!
See you there,
Jamie
